The Pandur II 8×8 is a universal wheeled platform with an armoured hull that is available in a number of versions. TATRA DEFENCE VEHICLE owns the know-how and technology for the production and development of various versions of the Pandur II 8×8, as well as for its upgrades and conversions, under licence from General Dynamics European Land Systems. Pandur II 8×8 is one of the pillars of the Czech Army’s ground forces armament, where it is introduced in a number of versions and designs. Pandur II 8×8 is also used in the armed forces abroad. TDV is currently developing a new generation of PANDUR vehicle called PANDUR II 8×8 EVO.
The Pandur II 8×8 features a modular design with a welded self-supporting hull with an optional level of ballistic and mine resistance according to STANAG 4569 up to level4. It also has protection systems against the effects of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. The propulsion system is designed as a powerpack comprising a Cummins ISLe diesel six-cylinder engine and a ZF fully automatic transmission. Engine power is transmitted to all wheels, and some versions of the Pandur II 8×8 have cruise capability. The Pandur II 8×8 is transportable by standard NATO transport aircraft of C-130, A400, C-5, C-390, etc.
TATRA DEFENCE VEHICLE develops and produces Pandur II 8×8 vehicles in a number of versions according to the requirements of users. These include an infantry fighting vehicle, an armoured personnel carrier, a fire support vehicle, an ambulance, a command vehicle, a self-propelled mortar, a repair vehicle, a liaison vehicle or a reconnaissance vehicle, etc. The various versions can be equipped with various combat turrets and stations in manned or unmanned form with variable armament including light or heavy machine guns of 7,62 mm or 12,7 mm calibre, grenade launchers or cannons of 30 to 105 mm calibre, as well as combat systems of various purposes – mortars, anti-aircraft guns, anti-tank guided missiles, etc.
TATRA DEFENCE VEHICLE is the exclusive manufacturer and supplier of Pandur II 8×8 vehicles for the Army of the Czech Republic and other selected territories in the world, as well as a service provider for Pandur II CZ 8×8 vehicles in the arsenal of the Army of the Czech Republic and other users abroad.
